HInged memorylock
What can go wrong about these all-metal things?
Not much, so there's not much to look out for when you get this memo clamp, except buying the right size for your purposes.
It's hinged, has no spring, just a screw and a washer.
Those doesn't entirely have to come out if you hinge it around something , but always be gentle otherwise you'll easily lose the tiny screws.
That's about the only complaint about hinged memo-clamps in general: if you fiddle in difficult corners, once in a while you'll be on your hands and knees looking for the screws and springs that fell off..because they're so tiny and it will happen once in a while.
Therefore preferably attach these things beforehand, never in the dark, or on a stage.

Millenium ML1 Memory Lock 10,5mm
I use these for all my floor tom legs (Mapex Armory) and L - rods, tom mounts etc. They are practical (hinged, so you don't need to disassemble things to put them on) and solid, but not without its flaws. One of them out its inner thread torn out so the screw cannot be tightened anymore, which is something that should not happen, and it wasn't even used that much. However, You have to look on the price/quality ratio for products like this, especially if you're not a pro - I still saved a ton (a ton!) of money with those.
So, if you need a cheap, solid memory lock, this will do the trick, just always carry a spare ;-) (they are affordable, at least).

Great fitting!
I've bought these for my Roland VAD drums, and they fit exactly, and for a really good price too, when compared to other brand names...
