Best mid range boom available
Having used quite a few boom arms over the years this one has been the best, coupled with a 008 cine stand it's very sturdy with a good locking pivot, easy to control & break down into a shorter boom length when needed, very good delivery from Thomann too, highly recommended

tough and flexible
this is a strong, and very adjustable boom. it replaces a cheaper boom, and has some pros and cons: it's easy to position vertically and horizontally, and it stays where it's put: that was my main frustration with the old boom, and the Manfrotto solves my main problem. two cons: the boom arm isn't telescopic: length is adjustable, but by adding and subtracting sections, so a bit fiddly if you need to adjust it often. the big drawback for me was that it doesn't fit the Avenger C stand I wanted to mount it on: I assumed that since both are Manfrotto brands that they'd be compatible. they're not. But in itself, a strong, stable boom, easily strong enough to take the flash head and big sofbox I used it for.

Very good boom
This boom is very heavy and I really like it. I don't have to worry that something fells down. I really recommend Manfrottos booms and stands. This is my 10th one.

Great boom for medium-sized stuff
It is heavier and more robust that I expected (make sure to put it on a good stand), but the shaft feels solid and the head is well-made, when tightened, it doesn?t move a bit. Counter-weight helps to keep it balanced quite easily.
