Compact PA, serious output

The Mackie Thump 215 is the most powerful model in the second generation of the Thump series, with a 15" woofer powered by a 1400W Class D amplifier capable of producing impressive output levels up to 129dB SPL. This load-out, combined with its 1" compression driver, it delivers a bass-rich, full-range sound suitable for many indoor and outdoor spaces. For all its power, the 215 retains the flexibility that comes from the core features of the range, including a built-in 2-channel mixer with XLR/TRS inputs and a 3.5mm auxiliary input. Channel 1 accepts mic and line signals, while Channel 2 supports line-level sources as well as the mini-jack input, allowing microphones, instruments, and playback devices to be connected directly. A Thru output allows the mixed signal of both channels to be passed on to additional speakers, a straightforward and flexible solution for scaling sound systems with minimal effort.

Flexible design & deployment

The Mackie Thump 215 prioritises powerful sound, without neglecting portability and ease of use. Its lightweight moulded cabinet (14.8kg), constructed from durable synthetic material, helps reduce weight while maintaining the robustness required for regular transport and setup. Its integrated handles facilitate positioning, and the overall design is well suited to both mobile use and fixed installations. A standard pole-mount socket allows the speaker to be mounted on stands, while the dual-angled cabinet can be placed horizontally to function as a floor monitor. Covering a frequency range from 40Hz to 23kHz, it delivers a full-range sound with massive bass presence for live music and DJing, while still maintaining clarity for vocals and speech. It can also be paired with a matching Mackie Thump subwoofer when even more low end is required.

Where it fits

The Thump 215 is well suited to club DJs, bands, and outdoor venues looking for a powerful yet easy-to-manage PA solution. Its integrated mixer and straightforward control layout make it particularly useful in setups where additional equipment is limited or where quick deployment is essential, with a pair of 215s enough for a dancefloor or small outdoor stage. Functionally, it handles a wide range of sources, from microphones and instruments to playback devices, making it suitable for live bands, dance music, and flexible sound reinforcement. Features such as a feedback eliminator and a ducking function – which automatically lowers the music playing on Channel 2 when a signal comes in from the mic connected to Channel 1 – make it especially useful for announcements, hosting, and event work, from plug-and-play DJ sets to more structured settings such as festivals or conferences.

About Mackie

In 1988 Greg Mackie, already a successful co-founder of a pro audio company, founded Mackie Designs Inc. with the goal of producing affordable, high-quality mixers. The company's first official product, the LM-1602 line mixer, was initially produced within the four walls of his home. As sales figures were encouraging, its successor model CR-1604 soon followed - and in 1991 the company finally moved into its first proper production facility. The combination of reliable quality and low prices quickly brought the company enormous success, so that by 1995 Mackie had already sold 100,000 products. In 2003, the company was renamed LOUD Audio, LLC so that there is no longer any confusion between the Mackie brand and its former parent company of the same name.

Roll to the Rock concert

To make transporting the road-ready Mackie Thump 215 as easy as possible, there is a dedicated soft-shell case on wheels in the form of the Mackie Rolling Bag Thump215/XT (sold separately). Upon arrival, if it's being used to provide stereo sound to a seated audience, the 215 can be set up vertically at the front of the stage. If the speaker is needed as a stage monitor for a band the next day, it can simply be turned towards the stage and placed safely on its side. In multi-purpose spaces, this flexibility can dramatically reduce setup time. For packed dancefloors or busy bars, mounting it on an optional stand is the best choice. The Mackie Thump 215's combination of power and portability also makes it a great fit for exhibitions, trade fairs, and conferences. Built to be tough enough for the road, it's more than ready for touring: It can even accompany international travellers, capable as it is of handling all voltage standards between 100 and 240V.
