It does make a difference!
This is a great little hack to beef up the tone of your bridge pickup. I play a strat fitted with 60s pickups which all have the same output. The baseplate makes the bridge pickup stand out a bit more.
Read online that people install them to get a 'tele' sound out of their strat. Well this is not really the case. To get close to that, installing the baseplate is not enough. A different wiring is needed - e.g using the 2nd tone pot as a blender to fade the bridge pickup in and out in positions 5 & 4.
Installation might be a bit tricky if you have not experience soldering but should be straightforward and inexpensive for any luthier.

It changes everything
I have a Fralin Blues Special on my strat. I use it on my bridge pickup. It changes everything. Chronic weak sound problem of strat bridge pickup is solved. It is very easy to install. All strat players should use that baseplate for bridge pickups doesn't matter which brand.

Much better sound
At first I thought that it won't improve the sound much.
but I really conclude that bridge pickup have it has a much better sound with more low frequency I would dare to say that my Lindy Fraline Bridge pickup sounds like Richie Blackmore 🙂
