Guitar amplifier
For the amplification of my hollowbody guitars I was looking for a speaker that can reproduce the complex sound of the guitar with very high detail - and still be able to handle a high volume. This speaker satisfies my needs perfectly. Replacing the original speaker by this one meant a serious upgrade of my amp.

Amazing. Love it.
I spent a lot of time looking at amps and combos, before I decided to learn a bit about speakers and try a few different ones in a small cab. I narrowed down the options I liked on paper to the Celestion Alnico Cream and this one. I started with the Cream and it was very different in how it filled the room compared to videos and recordings. Extremely dense in the low mids, even a Tele bridge felt a bit sluggish and needing more high end and less low end (nothing really helped enough). However for some blues and jazz styles it was exceptionally mellow in a good way. For my use, not at all.
When I got the Blackbird it was the total opposite. Its snappy, articulate, alive, powerful, balanced, responsive and - in the best way possible - revealing. I tend to like guitars, amps and pedals that reveal your playing as much as possible and not hide it. This fits in that category.

Just Great!!!
All that you would expect from a top Alnico speaker. Transformed a transistor, relatively dull, amplifier into something else.
