First off - damn that colour is NICE.
They included a couple of tools for trust rod adjustments and a cheap cable. Cables are always handy, and it might need the tools - i do need to adjust the trust rod.
Couple of ultra minor cosmetic flaws, but then some other things like the frets are really nice - really really nice. Tuners feel very solid, and tgey are very smoothe. The tone is okay, but there isn't a big range.
The only downside for me is how damn bright it sounds. I already sort of dreaded it ftom the audio clips - this bass sounds very bright. If you're into the mellow bass sound like me... there's a problem.
I already thought that i was going to slap flatwounds on it eventually, but now i'm actually thinking nylon tape wounds.
That is to say, there is a solution. Bright and snappy round wounds are not the right strings here i think, unless you want very snappy pop rock, pop punk sounds.
Once i adjust the trust rod though, i think this is a sturdy instrument. The price point also tells me that if i want to experiment in changing (upgrading) these cheap brittle pickups, i can. I'm still enjoying this bass, even if the voice is off.
