Pretty good, will need tinkering

Well built, heavy, no neck dive.
Maple neck is satin/matte on both sides, a little wide.
Two-way tross works fine.
Finish is good, except for fretboard inlays - the glue around them is partially chipped off, I guess the inlays shrunk over time (consider this before buying, might be a tricky thing to fix).
Bridge, nut and tuners don't need to be replaced, very decent quality (I'm surprised), and this bass holds tune well.
1ply Pickguard is not bent and looks ok.
Pickups are underwhelming and noisy, I'm replacing them.
Pickup screw holes are misplaced, and this is really annoying since there isn't much room too drill new holes next to existing ones.
The foam under the pickups was too thick and not flexible. So after a set-up I couldn't lower the pickups at all. Had to remove strings and fix all that.
I also had to insert a really thick neck shim to make string and pickup heights acceptable.

Thomann actually did the intonation, but they forgot about quality control.

I'm not a bass player, I just wanted a bass for my recordings. It's a decent instrument for its price BUT:

1) You can feel everything on the neck. Frets, truss rod stripe
2) Backplate is skewed
3) bridge, same as backplate, it is not straight
4) finish is not perfect but that's normal at that price range

I have a harley benton TE-20 guitar and I love it. It costs 85 euros and it is MUCH better quality than this.

Would recommend it? I'm a fan of HB but the answer is unfortunately no.

Good but too HEAVY
Steeferdesteef 25.12.2019
I also have a Harley Benton PJ 75 de luxe that I like a lot better. The JB 75 is a good instrument for €139,=. Sounds good and plays good. But it is HEAVY. Too heavy for me. I'm sending it back.

The specs are OK, decent hardware and electronics. Build quality is not that good. This thing just weighs too much. Playing sitting and standing is not comfortable. There were also minor scratches visible in the paint, this is not a problem to me.
Neck is not too thin but I like a bigger neck better.

Sound is OK but lacks that JazzBass bridge pickupg growl. Still ok for €139,=
I like my PJ 75 a lot better. Fuller sound and better playing.

Very good entry level bass... but...

Amazingly good entry level bass with a nice full tone, very good paint job and electric parts... BUT, the frets on the one that i received was unfinished!, non polished!, and the worst 3 of them had to be replaced!!!... they have serious dents!!!

the playability was a bit of an issue but a setup solves that problem, pickups are not that great but reasonable
