They work but don't actually fit!

Attaching these to my Gibraltar pedals, I discovered the screw threads are too long so the toe stop can't be tightened fully and are loose.

In saying that, I will be able to rectify by adding a couple of washers but was surprised by this 'schoolboy' error as I have nothing but praise for everything I have purchased with the Gibraltar name.
