nice strat quack and noiseless

These pickups have a bit more midrange than "standard" single coils so if you want the old-school strat sound, dial up some more treble and bass on your amp and lower the mids somewhat. Works really well with overdrive and distortion. Add an EMG SPC and you enter humbucker territory. Really pleased with this pickup set.

If you're chasing that dream tone from Pulse, Division Bell, etc, these pickups are essential. EMG says put them as close to the pickups as possible, but if you want to copy Dave, you need to lower them so much that they're almost flat to the pickguard for that classic "bell-like" Strat sound - Putting them close to the strings makes them very "hot".
The solderless installation is so easy and convenient that I can't believe that 40 years later no other pickup manufacturer is doing it.
