A characterful Tone Bender-style fuzz with great dynamics
This is a pedal inspired by the classic Tone Bender circuit. What I like most about it is the texture of the fuzz and the way it responds dynamically. On its own, it has a fairly dark sound, which can be interesting in certain contexts, but in general I think it can get a little lost in the mix.
That said, it is currently my favorite fuzz pedal, because I was genuinely surprised by how good it sounds after the kind of overdrives I normally use: preamp-style drives with low compression and a slightly fuzzy character. For example, I tried it after the Diamond EQ/Boost and the EQD White Light, and it sounded incredible.
I also tried it with more classic-style overdrives, like BluesBreaker-type pedals, but in my opinion those tend to alter the “grain” of a fuzz too much and compress the signal more than I like.
Overall, this is a classic, straightforward fuzz that can be easily tamed with a bit of EQ, while still having a lot of character.

Great fuzz
It's my first tonebender, so I don't have any previous experience to compare.
The whole attack range is useable. I heard that the tonebenders don't clean up as magically as the fuzz faces do, but this comes close, and is also very responsive to touch in lower attack or guitar volume settings. Sounds great in both my small and big Oranges, and before light drive pedals. Amazing build quality as you expect from EQD.
