Great pick

Not the grippiest but it's not going flying off your fingers either. Other than that it's the usual Jazz III. Found these overall more comfortable to handle than the nylon ones (max grip, which has too much texture for my taste).

They’re a Jazz iii but they’re a jazz iii...
repo251 06.06.2021
Jazz iii but slightly more bendy... great but the usual reds are just as good. I’d still say that Dunlop jazz iii red, black or black 2mm ultex are the best picks I’ve ever used and I’ve been through most boutique picks since first using them then come back again. I would recommend bevelling tho as it opens up the sound and improves speed and reduces resistance...

For any kind of playing
AndreasWine 24.04.2018
So, this picks are my favourites for the last 4 - 5 years. Used to play with the similar green ones MI but those Eric Johnson are better cause of the sharpest edge. Easy to lose them through the years cause every friend of mine, wanted one to share. Many of guitarist said that the size is a problem, but believe me the size and the sharp edge are the reason i can't stop play with passion .

Tone is in the fingers right?

Not entirely, they're also in what comes in contact with the strings, and a pick does just that. Those who have not used an Eric Johnson signature pick may assume it's the same item as the usual Dunlop Jazz III. They are indeed similar, but there are specific differences that I personally appreciate w. the EJ pick.

The nylon material is 'quicker', meaning it recovers back to its resting state sooner. The surface is not as glossy and the embossed text provides good grip. And last, but not least: the tip and edge is pointier so that it releases the strings better.

A
Best Jazz type pick on the market
Anonymous 05.11.2016
The standard red Jazz III was my main pick for many years and I was curious to see the difference between those and the Eric Johnson Jazz III. The EJ Jazz III is softer and has a better grip. The softness translates to the pick attack. It smooths out the top end in a musical way but still retains the standard Jazz III feel and response. It's also a bit faster if that makes any sense. All in all a better pick. If you like the standard Jazz III you'll definitely like these more.

The only Con I can find in EJ's Jazz picks is that you can't really funk out with them and that they don't come along with Eric's skills!

Good picks

Even after 3 years of use the pick is still in good condition and completely usable. This is of course owning to the thick and rigid nylon material that produces a loud and clear sound. My favorite picks by far.

These picks are very durable and when playing they do not make it so your finger gets too close to the string and catches it. The unique grip style is great as it keeps the pick solidly in place but with monuverability.

Eric Johnson Jazz III

I have been using these for about 18 months now and they have become my favourite guitar picks - I never use anything else any more. The raised lettering gives you a great gripping surface and the shape and size fits in your fingers very well. Size wise, these are actually a tiny bit bigger than standard red Jazz III's and have a sharper tip which is great for accurate playing.

I do find that I wear them out quite fast, but they are fairly cheap, so I just buy them in bulk.

Favourite Picks!
Young-Bin 23.10.2015
These are now my new favourite picks.
I've always loved the Jazz III picks but this Eric Johnson pick is especially good for me.
It has a nice pointy end for more precision.
It feels absolutely great! Nice and smooth texture.
Thus making the sound really nice and warm!
Once again thank you Thomann for a great service in delivering this and many other items to my door! Great Stuff!

Versatile picks
NikitaB 21.10.2014
The thickness and size of these picks is great, you can easily just hide one into the palm of your hand for finger-picking strings and then pull it back out again for the solo etc. They are very firm, I have not had them for long but compared to others I've owned I imagine they will last a good amount of time as they are fairly heavy for small picks.
