Great for practicing in a city house
I have been using this mute for over a month now. Playing the trumpet in a city house has its limits, your parents patience and the neighbors complaints. I bought this as i wanted to play as often as i could, and also, to play past midnight.
Many people have done reviews on these and you can find them online in both video and writing format.
From a beginners perspective, this mute is awesome (especially if what you are looking for is volume reduction).
The sound timbre and pitch of the notes are not affected by the resistance created by the mute. The resistance to volume reduction ratio is superb and this is probably a best buy for someone who is looking for volume reduction as a primary criteria.
The Sssshmute is both light and sturdy which makes it easy to use and carry around.
Go and get one for yourselves and enjoy. (p.s. i found that it significantly improved my range, i got better results in a week that 3 weeks practicing without without it (simply because it allows you to expand on how much you can play in a day.

Works so well!
I'm playing trumpet at 2-5AM and no one wakes up, there's someone who sleeps on the floor above me in my shared house and 2 other people elsewhere but no one ever complains or seems to know that I am playing trumpet this late at night!
AWESOME TIP:
If you have in-ear earphones (the earphones with the rubber bits that go into your ears) You can play a backing track quite loud and when you play trumpet its much louder in your head and you can play along with it (I think the sound waves travel through your skull as you push the trumpet on your lips and you notice it when you plug your ears) its pretty awesome! Try it out with this mute!

Brilliant quality of sound with this mute.
I bought this mute to practice at home with my cornet.
Even though its listed as a trumpet mute, the cork seal fits perfectly on my cornet, which can sometimes be a problem for some mutes.
There's a very noticeable difference once you start using this mute, all for the right reasons.
The volume reduction is huge without sacrifice to the quality of sound or tone (which was particularly important to me when I was looking for a mute), especially for mutes in this price range.
Pros:
-Volume reduction is superb for this product, probably the quietest mute I've ever used.
-Still retains a good quality of sound and tone.
Cons:
-A bit dear compared to some alternatives on the site.

Best one yet
Had the opportunity to use multiple mutes from friends before buying my own, including the very expensive yamaha Silent brass, and I found that the bremner is the best one overall. It doesn't have crazy resistance, it doesn't change the pitch as much when I play (which the yamaha did), and it makes it silent enough for practice in an apartment. Absolutely recommend this one.

Good product I suspect it may even be quieter than the bigger instrument mutes of same brand. If you are a complete beginner allow for some playing time without the mute to hear and recall note pitches, otherwise a good product!

Great Practice Mute
I've been looking for a mute I can use in work accommodation and when playing late at night. Decided on this mute. After using it for 2 months I have received no complaints about the volume from any of my neighbours.
Its really quiet and offers very little resistance. When I can play without the mute the notes are exactly where I expect them to be and no adjustments need to be made. This is essential for a good practice mute I think. The build quality is excellent and its at a great price on this website!
The downside in using this mute however is the loss of the natural tone and texture that trumpet produces when I play. Tonguing can also sound strange when playing with this mute, often its not possible to reproduce that sound without the mute.
Overall though, I am very happy with the product and recommend this for anyone who really needs a super quiet mute but lacks the funds to invest in one of the more luxury silent systems.

Great pracice mute
I have tried using various mutes for practice before i purchased this one eg my denis wick cup mute with adjustable cup..
The problem was always that it felt un-natural when the cup was at its maximum and that the air didnt blow through the instrument.
The bremner mute is lightweight and although it does greatly reduce the volume it still feels very natural.
I recommended this to my 2 brothers who both purchased one and like me are extremely happy with it.
It has also probably saved all our marriages!!!!!

Excellent
I use this mute when I practice in my dorm room and I haven't had any complaints from anyone despite the paper-thin walls.
It's light-weight, easy to carry around in trumpet's case and durable. It mutes the trumpet perfectly. I can hear the notes very well and the tonal effect is relatively equal on every note.
The backpressure is there but it's in the nature of a product like this, it's rather lighter than I expected anyway.

Very quiet and free
Easy to blow and efficient sound reduction. I can play next to my partner without disturbing. If you play while using headphones (for example to play along) you can hear the trumpet sound much better and it mixes with the music you are playing along. Very good value for the money.

Awesome mute
This is my first practice mute, bought after a long time of research and trying out different products. I'm really happy with this product, the trumpet is literally quieter than a person speaking. Of course it doesn't feel the same without the mute yet it does wonders if you want to practice at your home without disturbing your neighbors.
