The pedal comes in usual Boss quality and the five knobs are self-explanatory if you know what an overdrive effect is. But: It took me literally ages to find a good sound with the ODB-3. To me it sounds too harsh in most settings, more like a (good!) fuzz. Now I am totally satisfied with a fat and deep overdrive sound and do not dare to touch any of the knobs ever again.

A reliable OD pedal

Great for a fuzzy OD, durable & reliable. The pedal is quite versatile, perhaps not as versatile as others though. The EQ sounds its best working with higher, more treble-y frequencies. Good sound for alternative rock, metal, psychadelica.

Should be better, when on low frequencies become too weak

Top class pedal, built very well and very durable!
The features are more than easy to handle, however the pedal seems to give off a little bit of noise when the "overdrive" is put up past 12 o'clock. Other than that minor issue, I would definitely recommend this distortion pedal as the overall sound is hard to compete with!

The standard in bass overdrive

This Boss pedal sounds great. Full stop. It can add just a bit of bite to your tone, or turn it into a full on wall of sound. I use it in conjunction with my Orange amp, to overdrive its built-in distortion, and they make sweet funky love to each other before reaching the cab. :D

The first bass pedal i bought and its still in my rig today (always good to have a default crunch sound to fall back on). Though there are much better boutique pedals out there, the ODB-3 is a great entry level pedal for a cover band bassist that will do a good job of approximating the overdrive sounds of a number of the cover band standards.

Solid built and after years of gigging only has some minor paint work scratches. I was stuck between a 3 and a 4 star review for this pedal but opted for the 4 given its reliability and sturdiness. Its not the most flash pedal on the market and in terms of sound sculpting or making 'your own sound' there are better options out there but at the price it is at and how well it has lasted this is a great investment.
