In a nutshell: Great sound; ear cushions not as good as 250 version but still great value.

I've had the 250 ohm version of these for a while and use them for hours every day for computer, gaming, radio, and other miscellaneous household entertainment. They're light, very snug and comfortable, and completely surround the ear without touching. Sound insulation is excellent, granting a real sense of peace and serenity in an increasingly incomprehensible world. Sound quality is a little boxy, but this is the nature of the closed headphone beast. In short: muchos recommendeos.

So it was without hesitation that I purchased the 32 ohm version of the same model for use with field recording and roaming with my iPod. Less ohm resistance means more volume!

These 32'ers have the same sound, same great insulation. But they're a little less comfortable with the ear cushions being in black faux-leather. PVC, I would imagine. It's ok. Very good in fact. But the lovely fuzzy grey material on the 250 ohm set spoiled my precious princess ears so I was a tiny bit disappointed.

Seems a silly thing to be disappointed about, and it is. But we are irrational animals whose passions are governed by little details that irk. And sadly I, dear Reader, am no exception.

Glad to say that the musical response in the ears is still as clear as their big brother's and they perform their designated tasks with aplomb, nay, palpable enthusiasm. So yes I would recommend these as well if you need this ohm rating. They do "go to eleven" if need be without breaking up.

K
Bass-light and harsh compared to 80 and 250-ohm versions
Kauree 20.11.2017
I wish Beyerdynamic would tell us more about the sonic differences between the different versions of this model. I honestly don't think they should all have the same model number.
This 32-ohm version is very light on bass, compared to the plentiful but not overpowering bass of the 80-ohm version. The mids are also more forward, making it sound more harsh. This may make it more revealing for recording and mixing purposes (not sure if it has an advantage there over the other versions), but it makes it less enjoyable to listen to, at least to me. The 250-ohm version (the one generally recommended for recording/monitoring/mixing) has about the same amount of bass as the 32 (actually a bit more, between the 80 and 32), but sounds smoother and less fatiguing.
On the devices I used it with (computer soundcard, external firewire audio interface, Samsung Galaxy phone), I did not find that the 32 gave me a lot more volume than the 80. If you don't want to ruin your hearing, the 80 go loud enough anyway.

The search for the perfect headphones is over!
Algirdas 10.06.2015
First of all, the build quality is excellent! You can clearly see that durability and serviceability were the main priorities when designing these headphones. I'm so happy to see that in today's world of disposable consumer goods someone still makes a product where nearly every component is replaceable. I wish more manufacturers did that...
Once I put the headphones on, I immediately noticed how soft the earpads were and how well they isolated from the outside noise. The headband didn't feel great at first but, after some tweaking around, I found the position where it felt comfortable enough for extended use.
Now, the sound! As soon as I turned on some jazz, I was blown away by how big the sound stage was. It didn't even seem like the sound was coming from the headphones. Instead, I felt like Don Ellis was performing "Whiplash" in my very own kitchen! I most certainly didn't expect that from closed-back headphones. Furthermore, the level of detail is mind-blowing! Whereas on all of the headphones I'd had previously the drivers felt stiff, as if they couldn't move quickly enough to reproduce the amount of detail contained in a high quality audio recording, the Beyerdynamics impressed me by unveiling the intricacies I hadn't heard before. Their superiority is especially apparent when listening to vocals. Those extra details really help convey the emotions in the singer's voice.
If you're looking for a pair of relatively inexpensive high quality headphones, then you should definitely put Beyerdynamic DT 770 Pros at the very top of your shopping list!

Very comfortable, amazing sound, decent isolation, good price.
fretwimp 02.06.2018
Purchased as i needed a spare pair of headphones for home, to complement my Audio Technica ATH-M40x. I absolutely love the ATH-M40x, but these are a step above in all respects although i still think the ATH-M40x represents better value.
The Beyer are very comfortable, very soft headband & the pleather earpads are very soft without being too hot and sweaty. Ear cup is a little bigger than the Audio Technica making these a little bit more comfortable.

There is decent isolation with the pleather pads, but just a little less than the audio technica.

Sound quality is amazing, I hear licks, baselines & tones i never heard before in songs i have heard 100 times. Tee sound stage is quite good also, with a feeling of being in a hall, rather than the sound emanating from inside my head.

Only flaw is the fixed cable which will be a hassle to replace in the future as it requires soldering.

Overall, due to price the AudioTechnica are better value, having similar sound quality & comfort 55 quid less, but the Beyer are a just a little better in the sound & comfort department. its up to you to know if that small amount of extra comfort and sound quality is worth the 55 euros extra.

Excellent
acaetano 03.08.2016
I have tested the 32, 80 and 250 Ohm versions of these headphones and decided on the 32 Ohm version because I am using them with amplified and non-amplified sources. With an amplifier, the sound quality of the three models is excellent and similar. However, both the 80 and 250 Ohm versions sound quiet and muddy (as expected) with low-impedance sources such as smartphones and tablets. But the 32 Ohm version delivers an excellent sound with low-impedance sources (but it does sound better when connected to an amplifier).

The headphones are very comfortable and can be used for a long time. They completely enclose the ears and provide a good degree of isolation from the outside noise. Since they are closed headphones they do not leak a significant amount of sound even when played at a high volume.

The phones are a bit bulky but they are very sturdy and the build quality is excellent (and they are "made in Germany"). It also seems most parts are replaceable.

The only big complaint I have about this version is that it does not come with the soft "velour" ear pads found on the 80 and 250 Ohm versions, which are much more comfortable than the pads of the 32 Ohm. Moreover, the 32 Ohm is 15-20 EUR more expensive than the other two versions. Yes, the pads are replaceable but they cost an extra 20 EUR. This makes the 32 Ohm version almost 40 EUR more expensive than its brothers. Strongly recommended.

Finally one that I like
_obra_ 04.10.2021
After changing 3 different headphones, I realised that I need less than 50 Ohm.
DT-770 Pro 32 works just fine with my Focusrite Scarlet 2i2 and the volume is finally loud as I like.

Good overall
Tateos 29.04.2020
The comfort is good. Why they remove the soft pads? Now they are leather and are not so comfortable. I need to buy separate pads?
They are not flexible as AKG, and as universality of use they lack.
The sound quality is not so reach and wide, but is ok.
I like the overall comfort - the pads are big enough to hold all you ear inside. This is not creating pressure as AKG, that why you can use DT-700 for longer time without pain, or discomfort.

Probably the best pari of headphones I've owned so far
aa.ivanov 12.05.2019
I'm using my headphones daily for casual listening at work; for live mixing on weekly basis, and occasionally for sound editing. For the last 10 years or so I've moved from ATH-M30 to ATH-M50 to DT-770 (32 Ohm).

I've found the DT770 to be extremely comfortable and to produce amazing sound. Comparing with my M50 the sound is not so painfully bright in the upper mids and the bass feels much cleaner. Even though I've read reviews about DT770 having "bigger sound stage" I was still pleasantly surprised by the change from the "right in your ears" approach followed by M50. Clamping force is significantly less than M50, and coupled with velour pads (highly recommended) makes for really nice experience.

Probably the most significant drawback for me is that these headphones are bulky to carry around. Using them for quick PFL in loud live environment feels a bit strange compared to M30 and M50, but that's not their selling point after all. I suspect they would be really nice in a studio environment, however I have no first hand experience in such setting.

Overall I think this is the best pair of headphones I've ever had the chance to use.
