Handy, but not an alternative to DMX
This is a much better remote control than the old infra-red versions. However, some of the newer ADJ LED cans have the unfortunate habit of ignoring remote commands after a few minutes of inactivity. This is by design and set as default - but fortunately you can disable it via the menu system on each lamp.
One of these remotes isn't going to make your DMX controller redundant because it sends the same message to all RF compatible cans that are listening, so they all get the same command. However - if one of the cans misses a command then it will remain out of step with the others because the remote only sends mode commands then up/down commands. This could be a pain if the cans are up on a gantry. So get yourself a decent DMX controller and save this for little jobs where this doesn't matter.

Its Tandy all over again
This remote will last a week I suspect! Poor quality as you can see in the pics. Buttons are good but I purchased these for a lot of ADJ Hex LED 12 which are R,G,B,A,W,UV and it cant cope with that! It will run the effect programmes but is difficult to know where you are unless you can see one of the displays, which then makes it a bit obsolete! Useful for pub gigs but thats all.
