Great mouthpiece for the stronger player
TK--- 13.04.2016
First of all a note on quality - I bought this for my partner to use almost exactly 7 years ago.
The gold plate is still fully intact with a deep lustre and no signs of wear despite having been used for all of those 7 years - the plating is of the absolute highest quality and applied thickly to last a long time (something I can't say about too many mouthpiece makers and especially not in the deep cornet mouthpiece sector!).

But on to the mouthpiece itself...

If you've played the regular 16E then you'll find yourself instantly at home - the rim feel is identical and the two both look and play like they're the exact same internally.

Neither my partner (who played a regular 16E for several years before switching to this GP model) nor myself (notoriously sensitive to differences between mouthpieces) can detect any difference in the playing characteristics whatsoever.

For those who haven't played the regular 16E... You're looking at a wide cup, deep cup, large throat and flat rim with a light feel on the chops - a bit like the standard Wick 2/3/4 in terms of cup shape but slightly less taxing in the higher registers, whilst retaining a warmer tone than a Wick B cup.

Great mouthpiece design and in this form visually stunning - over the LONG haul. Recommended!

Super confort
Rémy880 02.07.2013

Denkt daran. Mundstücke sind etwas Individuelles!! Darum, Probieren geht über Studieren!
