Lesson of the day: know what you're getting

I am not a professional of anything, so bear that in mind when you read this review.

First thing to note: the width of the fabric is 200 cm, not 300 cm like just about all the other curtains available at Thomann. It would have been nice to realize this before ordering, but that's on me for not reading the product description properly.

Second, if you are like me - that is, not a professional stage builder or stage hand or performer etc. - you might think that fabric that is about twice the weight (300 g vs. 160 g) it's also somewhat thicker. Turns out it's not. Again, that's on me for not reading up on it. I think the weave is just more dense, but I could not for the life of me tell the difference between this "heavier" molton and the 160 g stuff we have ordered previously.

Our goal was to build a curtain in our rehearsal space that would also act as some level of acoustic treatment with the curtain hanging in 'waves' rather than being completely straightened out. Thus, it would have benefitted to have the 300 cm wide curtain rather than 200 cm. Also, the heavier weight was expected to help with that, but the difference is negligible.

Aesthetically it seems to do the same job as the 160 g/sqm fabric, I couldn't tell you the difference. The fabric is difficult to keep clean and will pick up any dirt and small pieces of trash easily. You will probably need to work on the curtain if you want a really pristine fabric that looks nice even up close.

Does what it's supposed to do, I guess, but hopefully this review can help someone avoid the same silly mistakes I made.
