Rode PodMic USB

As a podcaster who appreciates convenience and ease of setup, the Røde Podmic USB immediately stood out to me. I was drawn to the promise of an all-in-one solution that allows me to simply plug the mic into my MacBook using a USB-C cable, launch the Røde Connect software, and start recording. This feature alone sold me on the idea of not needing any additional mixers or audio interfaces to start recording.

Delving into my experience with the Podmic USB, the first thing I appreciated was the Røde Connect software. The software offered a plethora of features to control the output sound, which gave me the flexibility I desired to fine-tune my recordings to my liking. This microphone certainly stands out in terms of software support and user control.

Next, the build quality of the Podmic USB is another aspect that caught my attention. The solid, all-metal construction instills confidence in its durability, and the sleek, all-black color adds an aesthetic appeal that lends a professional touch to my recording setup.

One of the additional perks I enjoyed was the inclusion of a very nice pop filter in the package, a detail that speaks to Røde's attention to the needs of podcasters and content creators.

However, my experience with the Podmic USB was not without its downsides. The sound quality, even without any processing, felt somewhat artificial. It seemed as though one would need to process the sound to achieve a more raw and natural audio quality, which could be a turn-off for some users.

Another point of contention was the price tag. The Podmic USB is considerably more expensive than the original Podmic, with the added features not entirely justifying the price difference, in my opinion. If you already have an audio interface and XLR cable, it may be more economical to opt for the original Podmic instead.

The final issue I encountered was the sensitivity of the microphone. Accidental touches, like brushing the boom arm during recording, resulted in high noise levels in the recording. Compared to mics like the Shure SM7B, this was a significant downside.

In conclusion, the Røde Podmic USB offers a compelling package with its easy setup, rich software features, and solid build quality. However, the sound quality could use some improvement, and the price might deter potential buyers who have access to existing audio equipment. The mic's high sensitivity could also be a drawback for some. Nevertheless, if you're in the market for a feature-rich, all-in-one solution for podcasting, the Røde Podmic USB could very well be worth your consideration.

Ich bin mehr als zufrieden mit dem neuen PodMic USB. Die Qualtität steht dem bekannten PodMic in nichts nach und bietet mir mit dem zusätzlichen USb-C Anschluss noch mehr Flexibilität. Läuft auch ohne Interface einwandfrei. Ehrlich gesagt gefällt mir das neue schwarze Design auch noch um einiges besser.

Vom Sound ebenfalls absolut top. Hatte vorher das SM7B und kann sagen, dass das PodMic USB mindestens ebenbürtig ist. Ich nutze es hauptsächlich für die Aufnahme von Podcasts und Live Streams.

Das Rode PodMic XLR/USB überzeugt auf ganzer Linie. Die Klangqualität ist beeindruckend klar und natürlich, sowohl für Podcasts als auch für Gesang. Die flexible Nutzung über XLR und USB macht es vielseitig einsetzbar und die einfache Plug-and-Play-Einrichtung ist äußerst benutzerfreundlich. Die robuste Bauweise und das attraktive Design runden das Gesamtpaket ab. Angesichts des unschlagbaren Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnisses ist das PodMic eine lohnenswerte Investition für Audiobegeisterte.

Bin begeistert vom Rode PodMic XLR/USB Mikrofon. Bewerten kann ich aber nur die Funktion per USB-Anschluss. Da ich ohne das notwendige Gerät kein XLR verwenden kann. Aber das wird ggf. in Zukunft noch kommen, daher finde ich es gut, dass hier das Mikrofon beide Anschlussmöglichkeiten bietet.

Habe eine Odyssee hinter mir, denn zunächst kaufe ich mir ein Mikrofon für 59 Euro. Möchte keine andere Hersteller abwerten, daher benenne ich die anderen Mikrofone nicht beim Namen. Dieses Mikrofon hatte noch ein USB-B Anschluss und im Grunde war der Stimme davon aufgenommen sehr gut. Allerding machte es Probleme mit meinem Windows 11 System, denn hin und wieder zeigte mir der Treiber einen Fehler an. Das Mikrofon funktionierte dann nicht, zeigte mir aber mit einer blauen LED die Funktion an. Bedeutet, Strom hat es bekommen und so hatte ich manche Fehlaufnahmen, da ich es während der Aufnahme nicht bemerkte, dass das Mikrofon wieder ausgefallen ist. Das konnte ich nur durch mehrmaliges Ein- und Ausstecken des USB-Kabels manchmal bis zur nächsten Nutzung beheben. Das war natürlich nicht gut und daher ging dieses Mikrofon zurück.

Dann kaufte ich mir ein besseres, was auch oft gut bewertet wird, für 125 Euro. Dieses hat sogar schon ein USB-C-Anschluss. Im Grunde ist dieses Mikrofon schon sehr gut und auch sehr gut ausgestattet. Allerding hat es ein Problem, wo ich leichte Störgeräusche im Bereich zwischen -20 und -15 dB bekomme. Als Limit ist sogar -6 dB eingestellt. Möglicherweise hört man es mit normalen Kopfhörer und Lautsprecher nicht raus, aber meine Beyerdynamic DT 700 Pro X verzeihen keine Fehlertöne und hier sind sie störend raus zu hören. Dieses Problem kann ich nur leiseres Aufnehmen beheben und dann mit der Software wieder auf + 15 dB verstärken.

Ich nehme Let's Plays (Gameplay) auf und so habe bearbeite ich manche Videos auch an meinem zweiten kleinen Arbeitsplatz mit diesem Mikrofon. Passt auch von der Größe zu dem kleinen Mikrofonarm und dem kleinen Schreibtisch. Aus diesem Grund habe ich dieses Mikrofon behalten. Es kommt noch dazu, das ich an meinem Hauptarbeitsplatz mit meinem Rechner und großem Bildschirm nicht ständig ein Mikrofon an und abbauen möchte.

Aus diesem Grund habe ich mir jetzt auch das Rode PodMic XLR/USB Mikrofon dazu gekauft. Das Mikrofon passt als dynamisches Mikrofon besser zu meiner Stimme. Zudem gefällt mir auch die Ausrichtung dazu viel besser und mein Elgato Wave Mic Arm Low Profile hält das schwere Mikrofon sehr gut in eine geeignete Position. Die Aufnahmen sind sehr klar und auch von der Lautstärke sehr gut und das ohne zu übersteuern.

Die Möglichkeit noch Kopfhörer bezüglich des Monitorings mit anzuschließen finde ich auch super. Denn in Games kann ich so ganz normal sprechen und muss nicht das Gefühl haben, mit meinem geschlossenen Kopfhörer schreien zu müssen.

An Software ist hier auch einiges mit dabei, was sehr modern und aktuell ist. Hier lässt sich auch noch vieles noch besser einstellen. In allem und Ganzen, ein Top-Mikrofon und das würde ich mir jederzeit wieder kaufen. Kann ich daher jedem mit gutem Gewissen weiterempfehlen.
