Does what it says on the tin

Simple Pop 'n' Lock open/close design. Rugged design means it'll take a pretty good beating without breaking or falling.Mainly I've used it for micing bridges on cellos or floor stacked amps, live and studio.

Con 1: Even though it's pretty compact when folded out, its set design means it can be a bit of a nuisance if floor space is a premium (e.g. if you're micing a kit on a drum riser just big enough for the kit itself). Being able to adjust the angle of the arm would help with this.

Con 2 (nit picking): A bit more length on the extension would make it ideal. You can work around by attaching a boom but that begins to defeat the purpose of buying this product.

But ultimately, for the price it's a solid product and you can trust it with some expensive gear attached.

Much stronger and more useful than it looks - low profile but very handy!

I bought this on a bit of a whim, as it kept coming up on searches for small mic stands (that I use a lot of). I had assumed it would probably not be very stable. I was pleasantly surprised to find it sits very sturdily as an instrument mic stand for a seated musician. Add a K&M 18872 extension rod or a K&M 21431 Mini Boom Arm and you can even get it close to standing height (though the boom can make it topple if you extend it too far). An added use I have for it is as a lightweight tripod for Go Pros or phones (by adding a thread adaptor.) If I want more height, I sit it on an IKEA-style stool (the ones with the holes). The little tailpiece at the back sits neatly in one of the holes making it very sturdy. These are so light and compact when folded up, its almost worth having one in the car for emergencies.

Handy piece of gear.
Cheap but handy and useful. Cheap is not alwasy poor quality. Hear its not, actually very well made. Not for heavy duty robust handle off sourse but is studio and at home absolutely nothing more you need for the job.

Solid

- The product is solid, easy to handle.
- The rubber parts which protects the edges can easily stain your table. My Table is white and I already have some marks. It is not difficult to clean but...
- The cable clip bursted in 2 peaces at my first attempt to use it. I mean - who needs clips isnt it?
- I will not use it as my main desktop mic stand. There's not so much mobility and the bottom rods occupies a lots of space (regarding the space - totally my fault because there is a smaller version of the product).
- I will keep it because of it's solidity and it wasn't expensive.

Thanks Thomann.
