Probably the best price to quality bass
Zanius 11.09.2019
I have to say I was pretty anxious when I bought this bass due to various things I've read and heard around. Some say there were flaws on their instruements build quality, some say the electronics are no good.. Well, keep in mind this is a mass produced bass and you may get an unlucky pick from an unlucky batch. Also, people saying negative stuff probably didn't buy it from thomann where everything is checked before shipping and you can anyway send it back ;)
Well, my bass is finely made, there is not one flaw anywhere, no glue sticking out, no screws floating, no finish/color imperfection, no cutting mistakes. Looks beautiful and expensive, surely not in the 500E price range.
The many control pots it has may confuse a not-experienced player. Once you get to understand how to use them though, you can get a great variety of sounds from that bass. From smooth blues sound to popping funk to angry garage rock, it will do pretty much anything with the right setting and playing. The pickups are very sensitive to your playing, the instant you hit a string a bit more than usual it "bites" and growls. The 18Volt preamp has much ouput and impressive headroom. As far as I tested it is likelier that your amp will peak before the bass' output will!
Can't say much about the playing "feel" of the instrument, I never played a precision bass before but it is just what I wanted. Thick C neck for my big hands feels just right to me!
Keeps in tune, both bridge and tuners are sturdy so no problems there. There is also the option to install strings through body for more sound sustain.
Personally I am very happy I've bought this bass and I encourage everyone who asks me to get one too! Cheers!

Own one!!
sivads 24.07.2022
I've been a guitar player for many, many years and decided recently to take bass playing seriously. I went to the local guitar store and tried many bass brands and varieties to find one that fit my goals and one that I could eventually gig with. I was leaning toward a Fender PJ-bass when finally got to play the Sire Marcus Miller P7 (hard to find a demo in my area). This thing blew away the Fender in my opinion (and I own many Fender guitars). Fit, finish, play-ability, sound, active/passive mode, EQ -- the works! Oh, and the price is way below what you would expect for this quality. I had to have one!! I only had to wait a few months (heh) to finally own one, but the wait was well worth it. I'd advise anyone to find one, play it, and see for yourself what I discovered. Sire and Marcus Miller have a real winner! Now, I need to watch all of Julia Hofer's videos -- you should too!

Plays like a dream

This is a premium guitar that is very affordable compared to some brands. The attention to detail is immaculate. With all the options, if I just needed one bass, this would be it for its versatility. The neck is so smooth! It came with a perfect setup and I could not find a single flaw.
