A compact carbon fibre acoustic guitar

Thanks to its short scale length of 597 mm (23.5") and compact form, the LAVA Music ME 2 Freeboost BL is the ideal travel acoustic guitar. The instrument itself is an entirely new concept: Made from carbon fibre and equipped with the unique Freeboost technology, this guitar has some very special features that you won’t find in the same form anywhere else on the market. The carbon fibre construction results in a full and rich sound with plenty of sustain, while providing the high level of strength associated with this material. The Freeboost technology turns the back of the body into a speaker, while adding integrated delay, reverb, and chorus effects. This impressive system is loud enough for playing at room volume, without ever having to plug into an amp! Of course, you can also use the internal L2 pickup to connect to an amplifier, mixer, or similar if you want to use the ME 2 Freeboost BL on stage or in the rehearsal room.

Robust construction

The injection-moulded AirSonic carbon fibre construction is extremely resistant to the elements and can withstand temperatures between -20 and +90 ° C, and humidity levels of up to 90% - unthinkable for a guitar made from traditional tonewoods. The extremely thin and resonant top, with the sound hole on its bass side, ensures a clear sonic projection. This is also where you’ll find the USB port, a microphone for picking up percussive playing techniques, and a switch to activate the chorus and delay effects. The controls for the reverb effect, on the other hand, are located on the top panel of the guitar, and include effect level and master volume. And because the Freeboost technology transforms the back of the body into a speaker, the effects can be heard even when not connected to an amplifier.

High-tech steel string acoustic sound

With its extremely sturdy compact carbon construction, a neck that’s been through the PLEK process for improved playability, and its integrated effects, the LAVA Music ME 2 Freeboost BL is recommended for anyone wanting to be treated to a unique guitar experience, both at home and on the go. And, with its intense blue finish, it is certain to be an eye-catcher on stage too. Other impressive features include the elegant aluminium tuners, a TUSQ nut, and a high-pressure laminate bridge which provides tuning stability and great intonation all along the neck. The ME 2 Freeboost BL comes from the factory equipped with a set of high-quality .012 - .053 gauge Elixir strings. You even get a gig bag, perfect for protecting your instrument when you are on the move.

About LAVA Music

LAVA Music is a Chinese brand that develops and builds musical instruments, such as guitars and ukuleles, in a completely new and modern way. The use of moulded and robust materials, for example, enhances durability and weather resistance, and also makes it possible to modify their shapes from those of conventional instruments, which have evolved only slightly over the years. In addition, many instruments from LAVA Music also come with state-of-the-art pick-up systems that exceed the functional range of conventional systems. So, if you are interested in the use of modern techniques in instrument making, LAVA Music is a go-to outfit.

Limitless inspiration

Regardless of whether you are using the ME 2 Freeboost BL in the living room, in your hotel room while on a trip, in the rehearsal room, in the studio, or on stage at a live gig, the possibilities are virtually endless. You’ll be surprised how convincing the AirSonic carbon fibre construction sounds, and it can then further be enhanced by the integrated effects. All this, of course, is possible without ever plugging into an amplifier, thanks to the Freeboost technology. In addition, the "PLEK’d" neck enables effortless chord playability due to the pleasantly low string action, as well as offering soloists easy access to notes in the upper octave.

Great Travel Guitar & Much More
Pete S 07.05.2022
I was suspicious of the great reviews on YouTube but decided to splash out on the Lava Me 2 - well one of the best decisions I’ve made in a long time - I wanted a travel size guitar for camper van trips and the Lava is perfect for that but it is so much more. The guitar is easy to play with a very comfortable neck and respectable action it feels like a bigger guitar when playing it and the sound is unbelievably good, full bodied and it projects really well and when you turn on the internal amp system and add reverb it is inspiring - you don’t put it down you keep playing !

I’m not a great chorus or delay fan but both effects are good and the pick up system sounds excellent when plugged in I would happily gig with this guitar if my main guitar let me down

I liked the Lava Me 2 so much I have bought the Lava Me Pro for gigging so I cannot endorse the Lava guitars enough

Bonne surprise
Bruno77520 12.07.2020
