Das Buch enthält eine sehr schöne Zusammenstellung allgemein bekannter Folk Songs mit mehrstrophigen Texten. Der Schwierigkeitsgrad ist, wie angegeben, "leicht" und somit sind die einzelnen Lieder sehr schnell erlern- und spielbar. Dadurch ist das Buch gerade für Anfänger eine gute Motivationshilfe beim Lernen, da sich sehr schnell Erfolge einstellen und man die, den meisten bekannten, Lieder auch gleich in der Gruppe mit Freunden gut spielen und singen kann.
Fortgeschrittene können auf Basis der einstimmigen Notation und der parallel angegebenen Akkorde auch mehrstimmige Harmonien entwickeln.
