As tele as it should be
axewound 31.12.2019
I have had a couple of tele's ranging from Harley bentons T52 (which i really liked but was heavy!) and a couple of previous incarnations of the mexican tele and a second hand USA one.

This is the keeper though, for me. The bridge sounds perfect, and the neck sounds great too although some may find it a little strat like. Its not too heavy the Mex in blonde i had was literally like having a blonde hang round your neck if you like that kind of thing its fine but it was just too heavy. the T52 was heavy but ok, the previous mex i had (lake placid blue) was lovely and i regret selling it but had to change the pickups, and the USA one had a pickup change and i dont regret it going at all.

So this is the only one i have brought that i dont intend to change anything all i will do is put some different string trees on and move it up to 10's from the supplied 9's

Pro's
Its a tele through and through good value i reckon i could tow it behind the car to a gig and it would still be in tune when i get there, and it would still be in one bit

cons
None really for me

Nice guitar, bad quality :(
petertretyakov 18.09.2023
What should I say? Fender doesn't care about quality. Buy Fender guitar only if you want a Fender guitar, like me. I was dreaming about Telecaster for a long time, finally bought it and was a little bit disappointed about the current Fender quality. My next guitar 100% won't be from Fender!

The first time it came (not from Thomann) with broken bridge pickup. I don't know how three guys (assembler, tuner and QA (SIC!)) didn't notice this. Fortunately I was able to get money back and ordered the same model (yes, I just wanted Fender Telecaster) from Thomann.

This time both pickups work. But there are a lot of small details which shows that company doesn't care about customers. On the first guitar the plastic cover was fixed a little bit out of the place so it had a bulge in the middle. On the current one the bulge is smaller but still exists. Also the quality of plastic should be better for 740 EUR guitar as for me.

The height of strings doesn't tuned well so have to fix it by myself. And a foam seen under strap locks which is acceptable on cheap guitars but not on Fender Telecaster.

So I would say unfortunately this Player Series looks like cheap guitars with Fender logo and Fender electronics. Sound is good, overall look is great, quality is bad :(

Great guitar for the price.

A really nice entry level model for the Fender range, ideal for a second guitar after a starter electric or acoustic, or if you just want to add a Tele to your range without breaking the bank. Nice build quality and tone. I have had some issues out of the box with the break angle on the G string in particular over the nut, getting some ringing sounds so will have to either do some minor repairs or look at adding another string tree, which really shouldn't be something you have to do on a brand new guitar. It seems to be a mixture of a bad angle on the string and a badly cut nut slot which is where I deduct points on quality and sound. But overall an awesome guitar.

Not impressed

Edges are rough, but not as close as the nut!! This thing is sharp as razor.
Jack is somehow lose and you can't tighten it if you don't have proper tools, because it is Telecaster jack.
Pickguard is cheapest plastic (and I suspect the same for the nut).
On few places there are luthier pencil markings (or some tool), but it is sealed with transparent lacquer so you can't get to remove it without some (significant) work.
Frets are not all leveled perfectly, but it can be used.
Tuner for 6th string kept de-tuning so I bought complete set of new ones and it works now.

Sounds good. Looks nice. Invites you to play it.
But too much technical problems (mentioned above) for that kind of money.
