Versatile and effective
Patrick M 11.11.2015
On my ever ongoing journey to find 'my sound' I have tried a fair few strings along the way. These Elixir strings quite simply made their way into my top few very quickly. Nice and punchy sound, with a good bit of brightness-but not so much it is tinny or overbearing, which I found with strings such as Elite.

Elixir preach a lot about the durability of their strings, and while I am pretty sure there's a difference, it isn't monstrous. I do play fairly aggressively, which may help in them wearing down - but it is still not substantially longer than it takes to wear down most other strings.

They come well packaged-it is always nice to know that you aren't going to get a dud set because the packaging is awful. But the real strength of these strings lays in their versatile sound; bright and punchy enough to be exciting and almost aggressive when needed, but still full and bassy. There's a certain character to them I find missing that's in Ernie Ball strings, but...can't have everything, aye?

TL:DR - if you're looking for your new strings, yes these are a set you need to try.

v
my go to strings for 34 inch scale
vukrogi 08.08.2019
pros:
-they last up to 16 months
-considering every other non coated string goes dead in 2 weeks with my sweat, i'd have to change 32 sets in those 16 moths, so i save at least 20 times the price.
-good tension even with low E string dropped to D
-consistent tone
-smooth feel under the fingers, they are gentle to you fingertips
-sounds great in the mix
-they stay in tune
-best sounding and lasting coated strings on the market

cons:
-some non coated strings still sound a tad better, but every advantage gets lost the mix with the whole band, so ... not really a con
-some may find them a bit too slippery, but imho that's just a thing you get used to.
-they can get a bit of a "ditry" look after some time but that doesn't affect the sound

Last much longer than others
Vorath 09.03.2021
I have waited for months before writing this review as i was skeptical about the coating but i have been converted.

I do not play daily and my bass can spend many weeks unplayed in my closet and previous string would inevitably degrade quite quickly even like this. These string on the other hand still sound like new after months and i could not be happier.

Pros:
- good sound
- same "feel" as non coated strings
- last much longer

Cons:
- price
- no single set for 6-strings

I do not recommend for this price
Konrad Kienitz 29.10.2021
From the very beginning the e string had a different sound (it was deaf), I can understand it in cheap strings, but in such expensive strings, it is unacceptable. I think someone should check the quality,
