Amazing quality

I've been playing for the last 28 years, I used these string in the early years but then couldn't buy them in any local stores anymore. So in the meantime I switched to Ernie Slinky's and D'addario. Blue steels are light years better than Earnie Ball (Slinky sound good for one week, after a month they are at 50% sound). Blue steels will be less bright and trebly from the beginning, but will retain their sound for months. After one month they sound 90% same as day one and after two months they are still at 80%. Also far more durable than any other string out there. They work great for single coil guitars with tremolo, where you have enough or too much bite and treble to begin with so the sound evens out nicely. Another great thing about these is the even response and articulation you get with chords. All strings are articulate yet blend nicely. I'm happy I found these strings again. Try them, you wont be disappointed. If I have to compare them to anything, I would say there are very close to D'Addario XL only a hint less bright. Quality is just as good, but you get more than 2 sets for the price of XLs

Good but

good strings but low time life and a little harsh. They have the half life of the ernie ball in terms of brightness and feeling!

Dean Markley 2556 REG Blue Steel
Simo T. 14.11.2015
Dean Markley 2556 REG Blue Steel strings are phenomenal. The cryogenic treatment makes these last a lifetime without going dull. The sound is perhaps not as bright as on the regular DM-strings, but these seem to keep their sound good a lot longer. I wipe my strings after a play and the Blue Steel's last over a month, sometimes even longer. The quality has been flawless. I've never broke one nor received a faulty one. The coating is not as slippery as the Elixir-strings, but definitely more slippery than on the regular strings. I like them regardless of the coating. The price is a bit higher compared to the regular DM's but as said, these last longer. So basically you are saving money when buying these strings.
