So far I'm satisfied, but not used in anger yet.
I bought this Boss amp rather than the Vox Cambridge 50 as it appeared more established having plenty of reviews. I'm happy with my purchase so far but feel I'm missing out on the name brand. More experimentation required.

KATANA 50 review
The AMP is solid, firmly build and sounds superb.
The only problem I have is the set up of software, which can be complicated. You also have to invest some hours in learning the software.

Good at everything but not great at anything.
I'll give this a 4/5 across the board. It does the job, and while it's easier to use and sounds better than some alternatives, it just doesn't sound great. At the edge of breakup it sounds a bit like the distortion is pasted onto the clean sound and high gain is fizzy. I also think it's odd that it doesn't have an FX loop along all other connections.
The value comes from the versatility and the fact that you are able to use it as an USB interface. However, I ended up with having a tube amp and a separate USB interface with VST plugins. While this does what both of my current amps do for less money, I wasn't satisfied.
Your mileage may vary but be wary! And if you can spend the additional money on the 100w version you'll get more headroom and an FX loop. I'd recommend that one over this.

Amazing versatile amp.
Well built high quality great sounding amp. The new variations of the amp types all sound better to me than the originals. Have not touched the software side of this amp. The amp can be very bassy on the 1/2 watt setting but easily adjusted with the e.q.
My previous amps were peavey viper 15 and black star I.d core 10 and this leaves them in the dust, though at twice the price the comparison might be unfair.
This amp makes want to play my guitar. Very happy with the purchase. (With the exception of the wrong power cable being supplied)

Very good amp with many tones
It is a very good amp with many different tones and it get as loud as you could ever need. The only gripes I have with this is that it doesn't have all 4 channels like the 100 does and that it doesn't support the ga-fc foot switch but that is about it. You can optionally buy an after market foot switch like the Boss fs-6 to switch between channels though.

Great! Zero complaints
I can’t find a single fault with the amp. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 is because I assume the more expensive top of the range amps must be better

Superb practice amp
I bought this amp as a small beginner practice amp for in my living room. The amount of features and sounds you can get out of this thing is just amazing, and that is without connecting it to a computer, once you start with that, you will be lost for hours creating beautiful sounds.
Thanks to it small size and light weight it is very easy to store away when not in use.
Overall I'm am very happy with my purchase, definitely since I don't own any pedals yet and now with this amp I don't really need any (for now at least) because this has everything you need.

Great amp
Great amp but absolutely have to use Tone studio to get most out of it, and it's a bit complicated

Good amp
Overall pretty good amplifier. I use it in my bedroom so I keep it at the 0.5w power setting all the time, and the power knob in the middle. It can get really loud. Lots of effects out of the box and even more if you use the software. Distortions are generally good but I find myself using the booster knob quite often in order to get a heavier sound. The guitar I've tried with this amp is prs s2 custom 24.
