I bought these because I moved into a house with paper thin walls and floors, and I wanted to be able to mix and jam with electronic instruments without my hulking great next-door neighbour coming round to pull my head off my weedy little body. I also thought I might get a better-balanced sound than I do through monitors in my untreated room. TLDR: I did.

They sound pretty well balanced to my ears. Nothing is exaggerated, perhaps there's a little fall-off in the high mids but barely. More importantly nothing gets hyped, they sound honest. Bass is fast, tight and focused, which I like. Mixes I've prepared using these sound pretty much as I intended when I've listened back with other equipment, with no obvious bias introduced. I read in other reviews that very high frequencies go AWOL but that hasn't been my experience - one accident prepping a patch on an FM synth produced a ton of harsh overtones and I definitely felt that.

They are super comfortable, on my head anyway. I can wear them for hours and forget they're there. I don't have a problem with the plastic used for the construction because it keeps them light and practical.

If I had one complaint about the sound it's that they don't seem to give as wide of a stereo image as I'd expect, on the other hand the overall experience is of the sound almost being inside your head, it's very immediate and close, which I like.

For the price I'm genuinely impressed. I'm spending more time making music since I got these not just because it's more practical (of course I have other headphones I could use) but because everything sounds better.

Highly recommend.

I bought these for mobile work. They are one of the few folding headphones with a reputation for sound quality. Unfortunately they feel really cheaply made. The midrange and lows were articulate, but not exceptionally so, and the upper mids into the treble was a bit of a mess. They didn't feel like that much of an upgrade from many other cheaper better built sets. The ear cups are a touch shallow which leads to the tips of my ears touching and hurting after a while (maybe just me). The last thing is the cable. It's detachable and well made, but it has a braided jacket. That seems all premium and whatnot, but to me it just looks like something that will fray after a year or two of life on the road, where a rubber jacket would last tens of years. The included case is nice, but realistically the build of the whole thing seems like it will not endure location work, even with a safe ride to the location. I did use quality DAC and amp, fyi. It's unfortunate because these really seem to fill the niche of reference open back travel headphones. I'm sad to say that, while they are open backed, I don't really find them to be reference level or travel ready. Bummer.
